Wrens - EYFS and Year 1

Hello Wrens! 

Welcome back, we hope you've had a fabulous Christmas.

We have lots of exciting learning planned for this half term. The Reception children's learning is mapped out linking to the EYFS framework on the document below but they will be enjoying the same texts and themes as the Year 1 children. 

English - This term the children's learning will be based around the story The Three Little Pigs. We will be learning how to write instructions and then writing instructions to build a house make of sticks. After this we will compare the original Traditional Tale version of the story to the alternative The True Story of the Three Little Pigs.

Maths - In our maths lesson we will be learning about money, place value and addition and subtraction.

Science - The science learning this half term is about Wild Weather!

Geography - Our Geography learning this term is Continents and Oceans.

Art - Our art lessons will be about Andy Goldsworthy and sculptures made from natural materials.

RE - In RE we will be exploring the Christian belief in forgiveness. 

Music - Our music learning this is all around Pitch and Tempo.

PSHE - Goals and Dreams

PE - The children will learning Gymnastics.
