Buzzards - Year 5 and 6

Welcome to Buzzards Class!

 

Hello, my name is Mrs Noblett and I am Buzzard's class teacher from Tuesday to Friday. Mr Davies teaches on a Monday and Friday afternoon.

Our teaching assistants are Mrs Bowhay and Mrs McDowell

Mr Jones will be teaching P.E. every Wednesday.

 

This half term we will be exploring the following elements:

DT: Food tech - making bread

Computing: Programming - Micro: Bits

Music: Music Tech project and songs of WW2

Science: Properties of materials 

History: WW2

RE: Why do Christians believe that Jesus is the Messiah?

PSHE:  Celebrating Difference

Spanish - Family/ Christmas

 

 

In English, we are reading the novel Goodnight Mister Tom, followed by poetry.

In Maths, we are learning about  fractions.

  • Wednesday 17th December - Whole school theatre trip
  • Friday 19th December - Christmas lunch
  • Friday 19th December - Last day of term. 1.30pm finish
Homework:
 
Reading - please listen to your child regularly (at least 3 times a week) and record reading in their yellow reading record. They need to have read a book within two weeks and quiz.
 
Spellings - spellings can be practised on spelling shed (log in details are in the yellow reading record) and their will be a weekly test on Mondays.
 
Times Table Rockstars - move up the rock stages by practising TTRS studio mode.
 
Below is a list of the Year 5/6 spellings that the children must know by the end of Year 6 to be able to achieve expected standard. A list has been sent home with your child to practise regularly as well as being added to the Spelling Shed app.
