Week beginning: Monday 28th September
List 1 and/or list 2 word lists have been updated. Focus words for your child are highlighted. If they have spelt any of their words correctly in school it has an adult's initial next to it. Please encourage your child to continue to practise these words.
Children with the list 2 words are looking at the middle column of words this week.
Please listen to your child read as much as you can at home and make brief entries into their reading record.
Reading priority: 1- RWI book (if your child has one) 2 - AR book at target ZPD,
3: Free choice library book
MOST PUFFIN CHILDREN SHOULD AIM TO READ THEIR BOOK AT LEAST TWICE AT HOME AND DISCUSS THE STORY READ TO HELP THEIR UNDERSTANDING PRIOR TO THEM COMPLETING A REN TEST IN SCHOOL.
Logins are being added to the back of children's reading records. They can use these to log in at home for further practise to support their learning in school.

Homework Set 25.9.26
1. Children need to practise their basic number facts. They can use their 'Numbots' logins to do this at home. This can be found on the inside back cover of their reading record.
2. If your child is confident with these (or they would like to try) they can begin to learn their multiplication tables. They have a copy of the multiplication and division tables in their homework books. Their progress is marked in the cover of their homework book. They also have their Times Table Rock Star login (TTRS) to help them learn these. I would suggest that they use 'Single Player' - 'Garage' as this is limited to just the tables that they are learning.
On the front cover of their homework book is a tracking sheet so you can see when your child has mastered a multiplication and division table.
3. Spellings: a) words with ge that sounds like /j/. A suggested target has been added to their homework book. There is an assignment set on Ed Shed to support this.
b) Please focus on any highlighted list one and/or list 2 words that your child still needs to learn. There is an assignment on Ed Shed where they can practise all list one words. [I am in the process of creating assignments for each individual child with their target words - it will be called Puffins list one words with their name initial after it.] Please look out for this.
